Elbow tendinopathy

Hi all,

I’ve been dealing with some elbow pain/tendinopathy over the past few weeks, to the point I cant bench press or press. I’m going to start rehabbing it the way suggested on these forums, like Austin did, and see how I go. My question is can/should I still deadlift? I have no pain when deadlifting but it does put a lot of stress on the elbow tendons which could keep upsetting them, would I best cut it out while rehabbing? Also, is this ‘pin fireing’ (chin ups) useful for this sort of injury? Or just stick with pressing movements at a reduced load and build back up?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Here are some articles from Austin and Mike that should help you:
Pain in training: What do?

One approach we typically do NOT recommend for most routine aches and pains in the gym is absolute rest.

Key Point #1: Rest is NOT recommended

I think you’ve got the right idea with

reduced load and build back up

Hope this helps.
