So my wife and I are getting life insurance and they did a blood and urine test and shared the results with us. I was really happy to see how good the results were in terms of cholesterol (HDL 61 and LDL 107). Everything was within the normal range except Bilirubin which came in at 1.3mg/dl which is JUST outside normal (0.1-1.2). Also my BUN was 23 which is still in range but on the higher end. Creatinine was 1.1. If a patient with no symptoms came to you with these results and was relatively healthy otherwise, would you recommend further testing? Or are these numbers normal? What would cause bilirubin levels to rise like that?
