Entering The Bridge (not from SSLP)

I have been running the Candito 6 Week Strength Program after running out my linear gains. During the program I put 20 kg on my squat, 10 kg on my bench and 20 kg on my deadlift.

Would The Bridge still be appropriate for me?

No idea about the Candito program. However, The Bridge is an excellent introduction to BBM programming. It is the best place to start. Just be mindful of keeping realistic RPEs and not overshooting. You’ll be fine.

If your long term goals are to improve your main lifts with BBM style programming, then yes, The Bridge will definitely be appropriate. I did a Candito program ages ago and from memory it was an upper/lower split where you did did squat, bench and deadlits 2x/week. If your program was similar, there are likely gains to be had with the increased volume found in The Bridge.

Cannot emphasize this enough. Do NOT let your ego get to you. Be very realistic and honest about the RPE and do not ego lift. Sure, it will piss you off taking weight off the bar for a set @7, but just trust the program!

I haven’t seen the Candito program, but the bridge was designed as as a “bridge” between lower volume SSLP and higher volume post novice training. If the volume on the bridge is less than the volume of the Candito program then you might want to look into one of the other templates. Work out a volume comparison and then make a decision. You’ll probably be fine starting with the bridge though just based on my past experience with the average powerlifting programs out there.
