Estimating Body Fat With Waist Circumference and Body Part Separation

Hey Jordan,

I was wondering if it’s reasonable to estimate body fat using solely the waist and visible separation of body parts, e.g. visible quad separation?

For example, I’m 5’9.5, 150 pound male with a 29.5-inch waist. I have visible
quadricep separation and according to multiple “sources” online, I can guesstimate my body fat using just that.

I’m questioning that considering that people hold body fat differently.

Thanks,

Andrew

Nah, not really a valid way to do it. Fortunately, having an accurate or precise body fat measurement is not important either.
