I started bulking this past week. Prior to starting my bulk I was eating what I believed to be maintenance calories. The week before my bulk started my weight was the exact same for 6 straight days and down 0.2lbs the 7th day. I increased my energy intake by 150 calories but after only 5 days my scale weight is up 2lbs. I track everything I eat, including cooking oil, any and all condiments and even the butter on my toast using a scale.
Was my Maintenance likely off or is it possible this initial weight gain is body water? Should I decrease my calories or let it ride and see what another week yields?
