gall bladder removal and training/nutrition

I had my gallbladder removed when I was 13 (28 now). Sometimes the first meal of the day triggers a rushed trip to the bathroom but no other issues I’ve noticed. I was wondering if I should expect this to affect my training/nutrition in any way or if there are any dietary changes I should make.

Some people find that particularly fatty foods tend to have this effect post-cholecystectomy, so if you tend to have a fattier breakfast like bacon & eggs, you might try eating something else.

Other patients have chronic diarrhea independent of their dietary intake, related to the bile acids synthesized in the liver, and can be treated with medicines to bind these acids up, (e.g. cholestyramine, cholestipol, or cholesevelam) - but this doesn’t sound like your situation.

I don’t expect this would affect your training.

Awesome, thanks. By the way I never knew it was called a ‘cholecystectomy’. Learn something new every day.
