Gastrit

Hello Docs,

First off, your time and effort is much appreciated. In everything you guys do.

My question is two-fold.

Ive once been diagnosed with gastritis. Based off on symptoms thats what my GP told me. Im experiencing the same symptoms again, for quite some time now (min 6 months off and on). Nausea, bloated belly (they called me pregnant), taking a nr 2 much too often + never any consistency, unable to eat big meals, unable to handle a beer (alcohol) during dinner etc. Looks chronic atm. Now im planning an appointment with my GP again, because im getting really tired of this. Me stomach always hurts at the wrong moments ea out with friends + I have a hard time gaining weight/eating enough because of the physical and psychological issues I get with this stomach of mine.

Now my question, is there anything I should have me GP persuade to check or do? The last time I went, she tapped my belly, checked of my symptoms and send me home with “no coffee beer n smoking for 6 weeks” and a flyer with the government issued “what should an adult eat” (2200 kcal, 2pcs of fruit, 250gr of veggies, moderate meat n dairy…" you get the point.
So basically, what should I ask my GP to do, and is there anything you guys recommend.

Im atopic. Im allergic to a number of things of which peanuts are the worst. Ive tried whey, was a fk no-go. 5-10 grams for a single dose didnt fuck me up, but doing that for a week made me make really weird shits. Same with milk, I can down a glass but after a week im shitting bricks. I tried egg protein. Again, no-go. I can eat cooked eggs, but scrambeld or the protein variant will fuck me up. Over the toilet within an hour. The egg thing is fairly recent, as a kid i dont remember having trouble with eggs in any shape or form.

Is there any way to check for this, have myself tested for food allergys. and if so, would it be worth the money/resources? Or should I just go by what I discovered myself and do my best? It just sucks when everytime my stomach acts up im unsure whether its an allergy, its gastritits, its the amount of food, its the beer I took with it etc etc etc…

Aside, I dont meet my protein requirements since I can only get them from meat. Twice a day is doable, since I can mealprep for work but inbetween is hard. Im not downing 5 cooked eggs in the morning. Only thing i can thinkg off is maybe a whey hydrolysate or either get a proper EAA (essential aminos) blend and make the best with that.

Thanks in advance, any input is really appreciated.

Sounds like you may qualify for an upper endoscopy.

Most food allergy testing isn’t particularly useful, so it’s more a matter of trial and error here. However, I do suspect that all of these apparent “food intolerances” are being confounded by whatever underlying GI issue is going on (whether gastritis or something else).
