I was doing sets of 5 belted squats with an RPE of 8 when on the 3rd rep I felt and perhaps heard a small pop. This didn’t affect much so I went on to the 4th rep. On the 4th rep the same thing happened, except this time it was a much more violent pop and sensation that caused my form to go haywire. It didn’t hurt too much right after, so I decided to keep the hips less involved for the last set of squats and did some front squats. Paused DL at the end of the session were fine. Two days later when I went to squat again, I tried multiple variations of squats to see if one of them made squatting bearable (pain had increased since the last session), but no variation really helped so I just ditched squats.
To describe the pain, it is not as bed when descending in the squat, and if doing front squats, when I rest at the bottom of the squat, there is barely any pain. High Bar hurts even if resting at the bottom. Low Bar would probably not be much different (that was the squat I was using when this all started). However, when the concentric portion starts, my adductor hurts sharply, and I even felt another pop, but it was not as bad of a pop as before. Another time I feel time I feel the pain is when I get out of bed and lift my leg to swing it over to the edge of the bed. Additionally, if I am sitting down and lift my leg up, it hurts then too.
(P.S. when I say my adductor, I am speaking about that general area. I am not sure if it is actually the adductor or not.)
Any analysis/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
