Heavy singles

Howdy! I’m just wondering if performing heavy singles for the squat bench and deadlift for an extended amount of time (10+ weeks) would be a detriment to performance? With low stress weeks WITHOUT heavy singles are done periodically

Not necessarily. I’ve been doing singles on each these movements 1-2x per week essentially continuously for almost 2 years. It depends more on what the rest of your programming looks like in terms of fatigue management, and how you approach these singles (e.g., how often do you overshoot vs. staying within RPE 6-8 range, for example).

Ok! Thank you for the reply! This new week will by my 3rd week ever working with heavy singles so I’m still trying to get acclimated! I’m doing my best to keep the RPE conservative so as not to overshoot.
