High rep / low load training alternations

If one currently had limited access to equipment would simply assigning RPE/RIR regardless of load/reps be an acceptable adjustment?

I’m particularly wondering in the context of accessories but for example let’s say I only had 25lb and 15lb dumbbells.

for things like Curls, Walking Lunges, Tricep Extensions, Goblet Squats could I just program “3 sets to 2RIR” instead of 3x12 @ 8RPE seeing that I will likely get much higher reps with a lower weight dumbbell?

I’m thinking of things in the templates like lateral raises, where instead of doing it as programmed I could just do 3 sets to 2RIR regardless of reps.

is this acceptable?
