HIIT question

Think I may have been doing some of the HIIT GPP wrong for years…

When I’ve used an e-bike, I’ve been adjusting the resistance during the 20 seconds in order to keep pedaling hard, as opposed to picking a fixed resistance that allows me to pedal as fast as I can for those 20 seconds, followed by what would be a large drop off in performance if I had kept going. Hope that makes sense.

Is one of these ways recommended over the other?
thanks

I don’t think it really matters, but I would pick a fixed resistance and go as hard as possible. You should be slowing down from fatigue by the end of the interval.

K thank you!
