HRT for middle aged men

Hi and thanks for your continued awesome advice and evidence based recommendations. I am trying very much to meet the guidelines you outline for both resistance training and for cardiovascular work.As an aside I was wondering what your thoughts were regarding a rather general tacit recommendation/endorsement of hormone replacement therapy for men over 45 ,what are the real consequences and implications of what is a proxy for self medicating with what I should imagine are rather dangerous substances.might there be an informative assessment regarding this rather complex subject or is it a most definite 10 out of 10 would not recommend, obviously I have no personal intention of going down that road but very interested in an expert quantification of risk reward implications.many thanks

Glad to hear you’ve found the content helpful. Regarding your question:

What specific hormone are we replacing?

On what basis does it require replacement?

Assuming this is related to testosterone, then if you have not already, I would check out our prior podcasts on the topic:

Thanks for your reply .
Yes I was specifically referring to testosterone as there
is a movement in other content to normalise low levels I.e ,your not gaining strength or muscle get your testosterone checked and start topping up ASAP then you will feel great like you did when you were 19. I will give those podcasts a very thorough listen
