Increasing height after puberty

Hello Dr. Baraki and Feigenbaum,
There is a lot of information out there regarding the topic whether or not increasing height is possible after puberty. You guys are evidence based and I believe you would like to clarify this situation. I am a short guy relatively 5ft 8’’ on age 24. Is it possible increase my height with help of medicines, exercises, hormones etc.?

Regards

Not meaningfully so after ~ 21 years of age, no. This is why growth hormone is administered for achondroplasia during youth.

I’ve seen a deal where the break your femurs, rig up a jig of wires, rods, hardware, etc that stretch out your bone while they attempt to regrow.

That’s about your only option.

It almost the opposite of what Jordan had done to his legs as a youth.

Yep, you can have surgery too.

Yes, sex hormones do affect height and weight. For guys, an increase in testosterone leads to developing secondary sexual characteristics and a sharp increase.
