Infrapatellar Bursitis

I have been dealing with knee pain that has been limiting for the past month or two. Since it started I’ve been taking it easy in the gym. But the pain just won’t go away. The majority of the pain is with squating and it gets considerably worse when load increases. I went to the doctor who sent me to get an mri. The diagnosis (I got remotely) is that i have Infrapatellar Bursitis. Where should I procede from here? Do i see a specialist? Physical therapy?
thanks for all the wonderful work you guys do!

Decreasing absolute loading, using tempo, and potentially other modifications to exercise selection/ROM may be in order. (e.g., starting with 2 x per week 3-0-3 tempo squatting for 3-4 sets of 12-14 reps).

Our knee rehab template may also be appropriate for this situation.

For individualized guidance/programming we’d recommend a consultation, although it’s likely this can improve with time and appropriate loading.
