is the key to build muscle still progressive overload in hypertrophy rep range?

Couple years ago (like 10+) i learnt that progressive overload…in hypertrophy rep range 8-12 reps… doing ub/lb split 2 times a week the best tactic for building muscle.
Progressive overload meaning gradually increasing the demands placed on the muscles over time, whether it’s by adding more weight, increasing repetitions, or reducing rest periods between sets to force grow.

Now in 2024, is this still a good philosophy to hold on?
Is getting stronger in hypertrophy range 8-12 reps still the best practice and measurement to build muscle?
