So during part 2 of the Brooklyn seminar Q&A, Dr. Feigenbaum you talk about getting amped up before a training session and told the story about a guy who used those amonia smelling packets before each lift. You said (I think) that overusing some sort of stimulant to psych up for training would devalue its effectiveness over time. I was wondering if this concept also ties into training novelty and rebound effect. The novelty of the stimulant is no longer novel therfore an adaptation has been made. Does this make any sense?
I’m not sure what the question is here.
yes I am having trouble finding the right words…I was basically wondering if training adaptation is comparable to other adaptations. For example, if I do novice LP Program for a year, it will lose it’s effectiveness and novelty over time, so is this also what happens to pre workout hype? If I always need stimulants or rage music or whatever to get my self amped up, does it lose it’s effectiveness overtime, much like trainning?
Sure, I guess in general you can get desensitized to repeated exposures to a particular stimulus.
