Low back pain

I have back pain in the L5 area where the left side of it hurts. I cannot sit without having pain. I literally have to lay down or deal with pain when I am not home. It does not hurt when squatting, although I feel it. When deadlifting, it hurts and sometimes I had to cut a set from The Bridge because I was so afraid of continuing the last set. I have not gotten an MRI and neither will get one. I have not been doing any exercise to help with it. I do not know what to do. Is there anything you can help me with?

Are you regularly overshooting the RPEs?

Are you training with a belt?

What, specifically, are you afraid of?

I am training with a belt. Maybe overshooting my RPE’s by ±0.5, when I deadlifted my form is fine, always, but my back kept hurting. 0 pain when squatting tho. It just hurts when I sit and a little when deadlifting. From a scale of 1-10, when I sit its a 10, squat 0, deadlift 3

Update: I am on W8D3 of The Bridge 1.0. Back didnt bother up until I had rows. My left Spinal Erector hurts from the bottom to the middle of the back. It might be a nerve, it might be bone. Idk

It’s probably neither, to be honest, and if you are able to train through most of the main lifts on the Bridge without issues, it is unlikely that you have anything serious going on. It is difficult to explain your reported pain while sitting down and doing nothing, however.

Do you think Sumo deadlifts and Seal Rows instead of Barbell Rows will let the back rest and hopefully recover from whatever happened to it? Or is sumo the same thing?

Give them a shot and see how it goes.

Ok so today was GPP day and before starting the timer for 7 min I tried some bw back extensions and back felt horrible after them. Did 7 min min lat pulls, 7 min ab isometric usually ab wheels and planks and then 30 min on the bicycle where throughout those 30 minutes my lower back felt really uncomfortable

And do you think I might have tight hamstrings that cause this or weak abs or anything?
I have a video on YT on my full week of training and you can see my form on the lifts. Also I think I got a pretty strong core as long as I can deadlift arond 435 and squat 405 with form breaking down…

No, those do not cause pain.
