First I have top apologize if there is a post or show regarding this but I couldnt find anything specifically related to this.
I am a 39yr old male, been fairly active in my late 20s - Present day and have recently dropped around 80lbs. I do not take rest days, and do about 90mins to 2hrs of moderate lifting effort along with about 20-30minutes of moderate level interval cardio training daily. That being said recently Ive noticed my apple watch has warned me about my heart rate pretty regularly when i take a nap or go to bed with my overnight heart rate dropping down to around 38-40bpm. Historically, I’ve never had any major heart issues, I dont smoke or drink (2years sober) work a pretty sedentary job. and my heart rate is relatively normal during workouts and lifting sessions..
So i say all of this to say that everything im reading says this can be comon for lifters or athletes but nothing that says what is defined as an “athlete” or any reddit posts or forums discussing other listers experiencing the same thing so I would love to know if this is “normal” or do i need to run to the emergency room/ go see a doctor stat if every night my hear rate is dropping down to 40 bpms. According to my watch data my heart rate ranges between 66-157 during workouts and as I write this from my computer its 55bpm… I’m presently 200lbs, 13%bf, 51%msucle, and like i said pretty active at the gym but work a sedentary job, with no major health or heart problems in my family or personal past. Hope this helps! would love to know your thoughts on this
