I have recommended a client book a consult with yourself but asking for myself.
Client has elevated ALT (54 IU/L) and lower total cholesterol (driven by lower HDL (31md/dl, LDL-C under control with diet changes, 88).
Doctor has told them to increase methylated B vitamin supplementation to improve livers methylation pathways to increase cholesterol. Given the amount of animal protein he eats, I thought that was odd. Is this evidenced based? Also suggested for DHEA production
Additionally recommended Glutathione/NAC to improve ALT, GGT. As far as I can see, evidence for those feel very limited for a doctor to be recommending for these reasons.
