Mass gainer + protein powder?

Hi (again),

I found what I think is the best mass gainer out there. No added sugars OR maltodextrin, and the carb sources look to be higher in complex carbs than other gainers. I plan to use this as a convenient way to meet my calorie targets (on top of a balanced diet).

Question is, does it make sense to consume this and my currently-used protein powder, or should I just up the amount of mass gainer and cut out the protein powder?

Thank you,

May I ask why you want to take a mass gainer?

I’m already cooking/making 6 meals a day + protein shake, and based on calorie targets from calculators I’m still 300 calories short. Half a scoop of mass gainer in my protein shake is a very easy way for me to add in extra calories, without having to eat more when I’m satiated and having to clean more cookware.

I can understand that, though I think it’s more likely the mass gainer would be more satiating than other things you could add to meals. Additionally, I’d be using objective results (e.g. weight gain) to determine dietary management over a calculator. FWIW, I’ve never had any client need a mass gainer for weight gain.
