Meal Replacements when unable to eat

Hi Jordan,

due to a demanding job, I sometimes end up in situations where I’m unable to leave the desk to get a whole food meal for extended periods of time. I try to bridge those times by drinking a whey shake and eating a banana etc.
I’ve been thinking about drinking a meal replacement mix instead in such cases, which may (or may not) provide me with a better balance of nutrients, e.g. Huel?
What is your view on these meal replacements and would you recommend a specific brand over another?

Thank you and best regards

Toby

In general, I don’t think meal replacements are great. I’d rather you have some whey, oats (or similar), fruit, and nuts over an entire meal replacement.

FWIW, my standby is oats and whey in a shaker for times when I know I’m not going to be able to heat something up.

I chop up the oats very finely in a small electric chopper\food processor. I put them in a few ziplock bags with whey and grab one on my way out the door. Chopping them up helps take less time for the oats and whey to soak. If you used instant oats I’m sure it wouldn’t take long at all.

Jordan won’t like the answer but I can’t leave my office due to the nature of my work and I switch between True Mass / ON Pro Complex Gainer with a piece of fruit. Extra calories for me <3
