Dear Jordan + Austin,
About a month ago I injured my knee. Went down doing a high-bar squat, heard a click at the bottom, was able to come back up. The next day my knee lacked mobility and felt I discomfort/diffuse pain. It would not lock out and it felt particularly uncomfortable when I was resting it and the joint was extended (exercising it, does relieve the pain, at least for that day). I switched to back squats and dropped my weight and started building strength again gradually. However, its been about a month now and its still inflamed and will not lock out completely (Let’s say it locks out at about 95%). I also noticed that even though I kept doing squats, my quad on the injured leg had gotten noticeably smaller and much less dense. I finally went to the physiotherapist today. He told me to stop doing squats. He gave me some ridiculously easy isometric exercises to do and, from what I gather, he plans to start rebuilding my strength from zero. I’m guessing he will go from isometric to isolation and then to squat (probably not weighted to begin with). His diagnosis was that my meniscus was inflamed. I wanted to get a second opinion on this and to also ask whether I would benefit from your knee rehab template, given my condition. I thank you in advance.
