I was listening to one of your recent podcast and Jordan made a reference to Metformin being beneficial to get jacked. I have taken metformin years ago, prior to lifting. Do to stomach issues I traded metformin with Glyxambi which, along with diet, exercise and training have been very successful at maintaining a very low AIC (almost to the point of being off meds completely). Since my stomach issues have not resolved the metformin most likely is not the culprit. I am wondering if there is any value in looking at metformin again? The information I was able to read and understand concerneing metformin and MPS made me think I should at least ask the question. I am interested in the MPS benefits, general health and controlling my AIC.
.
Thanks,
B
Hi there.
This is an interesting area of research. However, if your body fat and blood glucose levels are well controlled on current therapy, I am skeptical that you would notice significant improvements from a muscular adaptation standpoint by switching / adding metformin to the mix.
Thank you for the response. If my insurance gives me grief about paying for the Glyxambi again I may try out the Metformin once more. If so, I will report back on my small study. I guess I will have to stick with the Anabolics, HGHs, SARMS and GOMAD for the gainZZzZZ now.
Ha!
I don’t know enough about you from a medical standpoint, but don’t discount the possibility that you might get yourself off the medicine entirely in the long run!

I am borderline right now. My blood sugar levels never get high anymore. I actually struggle at times to keep them high enough to prevent lethargy. I am hoping that by end of the year I will be off all meds related to diabetes.
Thank you, Austin, Jordan, Allan, and Leah! you guys have inspired, educated and totally improved my quality of life!
