Microalbuminuria

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the great information and analysis you provide!

I had my 2020 annual physical last week and all blood labs(Lipid, metabolic, thyroid, A1C) were all normal. However, my urine sample contained 30mg/l albumin and 10mg/dL creatinine. At my 2019 annual physical my urine sample contained 10mg/l albumin and 50mg/dL creatinine. My Systolic BP is always high at dr like, 150 or greater but diastolic is always 80 or below. At home my systolic is averaging about 130 but gets as low as 114. Diastolic is anywhere from 55-75. He prescribed a daily 5mg of Lisinopril and I began taking on September 19.

Any idea’s why my blood labs for kidney function would be normal but the urine sample abnormal?

Other info about me:
34 years old
5’11
175 lbs
i exceed the recommendations for physical activity
take 20mg Lexapro for GAD
take 20mg famotidne as needed for GERD
I drink 1-2 alcohol drinks a month,
do not consume tobacco
drink 2 cups a coffee In morning and green tea in afternoon

thank you!

Microalbuminuria can be a benign, transient process, or can be an early indicator of kidney issues that can manifest much earlier than blood tests of kidney function (such as creatinine) become abnormal.

Thank you! So seems that taking the Lisinopril and monitoring is the right approach for me. Are there any contraindications for resuming creatine monohydrate in my situation? I stopped it for the week before my labs.

I do not see contraindications there, assuming what you are taking is pure creatine monohydrate (i.e., no contamination/adulteration of the supplement).

Thanks! It’s BodyTech, a brand under VitaminShoppe umbrella. It says every batch is lab tested for contaminants and strict adherence to CGMP.

thanks again!
