Modify training or diet while on short cycle of Prednisone?

I’ve been dealing with a persistent sinus infection with accompanying severe right frontal sinus pain for the last 23 days. After a couple of trips to my GP I got sent over to ENT, where they put me on my third difference antibiotic and a twelve day cycle of Prednisone (3 days each of 40, 30, 20, and 10 mg.) I started the Prednisone this morning.

My initial thoughts were to continue eating and training as normal, but thought I might seek out a more educated opinion, especially considering some issues with recovery over the last three weeks due to constant pain, digestive issues resultant from the last round of antibiotics, and some sleep disruption. Any thoughts on modification to training/diet for the next 2 weeks or so?

Next squat will be 325x5x3 on Monday; 80%x5x2 on Wednesday; 335x5x3 Friday (ramping back up after a reset)
Next Press 131x5x3 Monday; 133x5x3 Friday
Bench on Wednesday is whatever I can work up to without aggravating some elbow flexor tendinitis
Deadlift 425x5x1 Monday; 80%x5x2 Friday

Any thoughts on the matter will be much appreciated.

I don’t necessarily think starting a short course of prednisone requires automatic pre-emptive program modifications.

What antibiotics have you been on?

I was on a 7 day course or Augmentin, followed by 7 days of doxycycline, and now I’m on day 2 of 14 on Bactrim.

Got it. I think you’ll be OK.

Thanks for the feedback. My instinct was that that things wouldn’t go too sideways in 12 days, and I appreciate the confirmation.
