Prednisone

Sleep Doc told me to see the ENT.
The ENT attempted an endoscopy and founded both septum deviated. He also could not get very far because of the inflammation.
He prescribed me 60, 10mg Prednisone to be taken within the next 15 days and then see him for another endoscopy.
A few websites on Google state that predisone can cause muscle atrophy.
Can this dosage of prednisone have an effect on my SSLP training, provided I do not nocebo myself?

Thanks

Significant muscle atrophy is a concern with long-term therapy. 15 days at that level of dosing can certainly have some systemic effects, but it’s also a pretty short timeframe, so if you’re otherwise young and healthy you should bounce back fine.

I’ve had taken prednisone in the past (I would say one cycle due to asthma that wasn’t as strong as this current one) about once a year for the past 2 years (I’m sure a lot more when I was younger). Along with puffin on an inhaler most of my life you think any of those external cortisol hormones have a noticeable effect on the adrenals? For example, can cause things like anger , not to great of a recovery from training or what ever poor adrenals function can possibly have?

You’re unlikely to have significant systemic issues related to inhaled corticosteroid use for asthma.

Long-term systemic therapy, on the other hand, can certainly cause issues like secondary adrenal insufficiency.

howdy, I have asthma as well. Long-acting β2-adrenergic agonists will cause issues on secondary adrenal insufficiency?

Nope, not related
