Is there any reason to think that monoglycerides and/or diglycerides have negative long term effects on health and should be avoided/limited. I have been warned that they are a way to sneak trans fat past the FDA, but IDK.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, they’re mostly used as a synthetic emulsifier and found in foods like breads, cakes, desserts, margarines, spreads, ice cream, chewing gum.
I think a health-promoting dietary pattern is unlikely to include a high amount of cake, desserts, margarines, or similar.
As far as specifically avoiding mono or diglycerides independent of that, meh…not sure I would really care.
