Moving forward

Hello team,

First of all, and as first comment in the forum, thanks for all the excellent content that you guys have put together. I have been following BBM for a time now and appreciate what you guys are doing in the field.

This post is another one about what I am currently doing and what I could do next, I understand you need to deal with these kind of posts all the time and appreciate your patience and guidance.

I have been training for a few years now, and am currently completing the Bridge 1.0, my first BBM program, and so far I am quite satisfied with the results. I have split it in more days since I have a home gym and pretty much prefer 45’-1h sessions to longer ones (as when I tried to do everything in just 3 days).

My stats are:

Male, 27, 1.86m, 87kg
e1RMs: 200 kg (Deadlift), 170 kg (Squat), 110 kg (Bench), 70 kg (OHP)

My objectives are: - Keep increasing my 1RMs and gain more lean body mass, - Increase my work capacity, and feel comfortable with endurance challenges (e.g. running half a marathon). I am not really interested in competing in powerlifting at least in a short term, if I find a meet close by I might go for it, but it’s not a priority

My home gym is pretty basic: barbell, rack, flat bench, dumbbells (considering purchasing a SSB if needed for a program)

My question is… what to do next when I finish the Bridge? I see good reasons to do any program: Strength (to increase 1RMs), hypertrophy (I have been doing strength programs for a while and would be a nice option), Powerbuilding (combining different approaches), or GPP (increasing capacity and endurance).

Do you have any particular recommendation? Perhaps alternating hypertrophy / strength cycles with endurance once or twice per year? I am also unsure about choosing a 3- or 4- day program, I generally spend between 5 and 8 hours a week working out and am afraid that a 4 day program (+GPP) may require more than that.

In any case, many thanks for your help and work. Really appreciate that you take the time to read the long post and answer…!

Cheers,
J

Hey J,

Thanks for the kind words and the post. I think based on your resources, goals, and previous training I’d recommend our Powerbuilding I template or General S/C template. If you’re more geeked on hypertrophy than endurance work, pick Powerbuilding. If you’d prefer to work on your conditioning a bit more, pick the General S/C.

Many thanks, Jordan, much appreciated!
