Muscle strength/mass and COVID-19

Good evening,

I was wondering if y’all had the chance to read this paper that was published about a couple weeks ago: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jcsm.12789
If so, thoughts? Strengths/weaknesses of the paper?

I haven’t read that particular paper, but this finding is unsurprising and fits with the rest of the literature on this topic, which I discussed at length here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJBqBDZoSvQ

A major “limitation”, as with many other such papers, is that this is an associative relationship. Sicker people tend to have less muscle mass, which may be the bigger driver of the observed outcomes here, compared to more muscle mass itself “causing” the better outcomes.
