Hello Docs:
I have been listening to your podcasts about weight loss drugs. And really have been enjoying your thought process. I am contemplating going on them. My doctor said I would be eligible.
I am hoping you could offer some feedback.
I am 54 260-265lbs at 6’3” and have been training for the better part of 7 years mainly on your programming and another program that is strength based. I train pretty consistently, though I do run into back issues every year that sideline me for 4-6 weeks, and have also rehabbed through knee and shoulder pain. The latest has me just returning to the gym running the Back Rehab program.( Really rethinking my thought process and embracing some less is more right now).
I just had a physical and all my numbers were in the green. EKG/ECG was good. My waist circumference is hovering in the 37” area.
I have had a bought of gout but have been good there and are not taking allopurinol or anything for it. Also I have been diagnosed with a fatty liver. I am currently taking benicar for HBP.
Sorry for all that, but hope it might help.
I can’t really get my weight to move, and i am carrying around a fair amount of extra weight. I try to manage diet and I am not having a lot of success. What are your thoughts as far as going on a weightloss drug. I feel like if I had some numbers out of whack it might be more of a sign to take them. Or would I be crazy to go on something and should I just “try more”?
