Hi,
A few weeks ago I did a fairly high amount of volume of pendlay rows and afterwards my lower back felt pretty fatigued. Then, the following day I did some competition dead lifts which seemed to overly fatigue my lower back. Since then, my lower back has been fairly sore. While I’m still able to hit all my reps at correct RPE, I’m starting to wonder if I should be taking some weight off the bar when I dead lift and row and until the pain in my lower back goes away. What are your guy’s thoughts? Also, the last week or so I’ve been wearing a belt on my assistance dead lift exercises/rows as a way to help manage the fatigue in my lower back.
Describing the pain: it’s a dull achy feeling that I get when doing pulling exercises, especially when standing back up after completing a dead lift or pendlay row. Also, my lower back is sore to the touch. It’s not unbearable and it doesn’t cause me to wince or cry out in pain, but it is uncomfortable dead lift and massage.
Thanks!
