Pain in mid-forearm following elbow tendonitis

Hello doctors et al!

I have little medical training (natch) but I’ll try my best to describe what is happening. I’m an early-intermediate lifter, on week 3 of the Bridge 1.0. I had been dealing with elbow pain in my right elbow for the past few weeks but now the pain has moved distally towards my mid-forearm.

I think I isolated the initial cause to my squat form and I’ve since been able to work it out: the pain isn’t there when squatting now. However, I find with pulls from the floor is when I have this pain in my mid forearm after the muscle stops contracting. Example, when doing a Barbell row it won’t hurt until after I set the bar back down. However if I pull with my hands suppinated I don’t get the same or really any pain, so I’ve been doing that as a modification for rows.

Is this the normal progression of the healing process or does it normally just go away altogether rather than moving elsewhere first? Let me know if I can provide any other information that would be helpful! It’s kind of annoying as even mundane things like turning the steering wheel are somewhat uncomfortable for my right side to perform.

Hard to say what’s going on here.

Does it hurt to pull using straps?

Most things do tend to get better on their own with time.

Oh wow, I thought my post had disappeared into the ether so I didn’t even check back for it, haha.

It has gotten better due to some forced time away. I hadn’t tried it using straps, but pulling supinated (especially for rows) was painless, so I tried to do that instead. Not sure if that’s a good modification. It seemed to hurt the most after rowing where I would slam the bar back into the floor while my arm was contracted. I’ve since tried to set it down somewhat more gently or just let go of it completely before letting it hit the ground, that seems to help.

Thanks for the reply, Austin. Sorry I didn’t get to this nearly soon enough.
