I am curious as to what ideas you may have about PFS. A friend of mine went to a PT and was told to narrow her stance less than shoulder width on squats. That seems pretty narrow and may not help the issue. Do you have any suggestions for different types of exercises?
The general exercise recommendation based on the evidence in PFPS is for quadriceps strengthening exercises. If this individual can squat without worsening pain, they should squat. If not, an alternative exercise should be used temporarily until they can squat.
