I’ve been experiencing pain in what I believe is my peroneus brevis muscle in my left leg during squats. The pain is on the outer edge of my tibia just below the middle of my tibia. The pain first came about in September 2018. It typically goes away with a deload but flares up when volume/intensity/frequency returns to normal. I would attempt to strengthen these muscles, but I am unsure how to do so. The pain is dull and hurts if pressed on.Pain scores are typically low to moderate, however, I would like to make this problem stop recurring. Thanks for the help guy!
It sounds like you know how to de-sensitize it, but your typical progression plan to return back to normal is probably too aggressive in some fashion (e.g., too quick of intensity progression, too much training volume, or excessive frequency, etc.).
Thanks for the response Dr. Baraki. Do you think strengthening those muscles could help the problem as well?
