Pin Squats | How Critical is the Pin Height?

Hello Everyone!

I’ll be starting week 5 of Ze Bridge this week, and so encountering Pin Squats for the first time ever

As i’ve mentioned in another thread, the power racks at my Gym are not the greatest, and the settings for the pins are 3 or 4 inches apart

How critical is it to the effectiveness of the exercise to get the pins at the height where i’m just hitting parallel? If i can’t get it spot on, is it better to be a bit too high or a bit too low?

Thanks!

The pins should ideally be set so where you’re 1" below parallel at the bottom, but get as close as you can if this isn’t possible.

Thank you Sir!

Hello Jordan!

Bit of a PS on this one -

Do you have any good cues or form-tips for Pin Squats, please?

As they’re new to me, i’m finding myself getting distracted by the Pins, and kind of … “feeling” for them on the way down. This is causing me (i think) to try and touch the bar down by leaning a little bit too far forward, instead of naturally descending, leaving me with a bit of a sore lower back the next few days.

Thanks in advance for any advice and a manly slap on the back for the SS Fall Classic. I sense that you were a bit disappointed , but - hey - a cuddly dinosaur is a cuddly dinosaur, amirite?

This is normal - just takes some practice!

Roger dodger - Thanks Austin!
