I got to Crunch, it’s a commercial gym. Luckily they have rogue bumper plates which I feel are closest to being accurate as I’m going to find in my area unless I go to an Olympic weightlifting gym w/ kg plates. That being said I don’t like to use bumpers on squats and bench… looks a bit funny. In all honesty most gyms weights feel lighter but these feel crunch brand 45lb feel noticeably heavier than rogues. Should I just used the rogue for all my movements?
I am not sure I understand the question. At your gym, do you have more than just the rogue bumpers? Looking funny shouldn’t be the determination on the plate choice, I’d rank accuracy and the ability to fit enough weight on the bar much higher. So I’d aim for consistency-pick a plate type and use that for a lift. It’s very likely that you are working with some minor plate weight discrepancies no matter what since you have all un-calibrated plates.
It’s okay to use the plates you feel are best for each exercise . Just be consistent with your choice . I personally use York metal plates for bench/squat and bumpers for deadlifts
