I’ve been reading more of Chris Beardsley’s stuff and am interested in becoming a better athlete. I’ve incorporated some plyometrics at the beginning of my workout but still have a question.
What is the difference between plyometrics vs something like power cleans or explosive trap bar deadlifts?
I know their both power but are they power in different ways?
Most -but not all- plyometrics rely on BW only and start with an eccentric. Like other exercises, they develop adaptations specific to their velocity, movement pattern, joint angles, muscle lengths, tendon loading, etc. Trap bar deadlifts also develop high velocity strength, but don’t start with eccentric loading of tendons- among other differences.
