I am listening to the podcast about pain. This was suggested to me due to the fact that I think that I had acquired a shoulder injury by throwing the football of all things. That was 1 day less than 3 weeks ago. Right after the injury, I could still squat, deadlift, and do chin-ups. The first BP session after that felt not too good, but the pain was manageable. The next session, press felt completely fine. The next bench session hurt so bad at 85 lbs (was going to do 125 for 5), I could barely get 1 rep off my chest. It hurt near the back of the right shoulder but closer to the side of the shoulder, and it seemed that a popping occurred with the pain. I got a belt from a neighbor about two weeks ago, and while trying to take it off, my right shoulder seemed to pop and then hurt quite a bit, and lasted for a couple of hours. I have no idea what the issue could be, and I have no idea when my shoulder was/will be ready to go 100 percent.
In the podcast, I heard that much of the time, doing nothing is worse than some form of training with pain. Does this mean I should try some Bench and Press, increasing the weight right now to see how I feel? I haven’t done upper body for 2 weeks. Thanks!
