Positive rehab mindset

Hello guys

Ive been dealing with lots of injuries the last 1,5 year which I successfully rehabbed myself some were overuse injuries others unlucky (tweaked my back while getting dressed for the gym…) but the process of injuries happening back to back and being in pain on and off have really worn me out and i find it really hard to keep a posititve mindset. Any tips/words of encouragement for keeping a positive mindset coming from you will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks In advance.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about these challenges. This is a pretty common experience that can be very frustrating. I’d encourage you to check out this article:

In addition, if you have been entirely self-managing your programming, I would also consider pursuing a consultation with one of our coaches to review your training approach, and whether there are adjustments that can be made to better fit your needs, tolerance, and goals.

I treat my training as a saw tooth wave.

I will have setbacks (I seem to tweak my back every so often which is annoying) but as long as the peaks trend upwards over time I don’t let it bother me.

I also remind myself I’m only competing against me so what I lift today is only important in the context of whether I improve on it later.

Best thing I did was stop beating myself up when things go wrong.
