Possible Sleep Apnea

Hello doctors, I have been dealing with symptoms of drowsiness and fatigue. I can wake up from sleeping and still feel tired. I am 18 years old and have been dealing with this for a couple years. I went to the doctor to get blood tests to make sure my thyroid is functioning properly because my mother has thyroid issues, so it led me to believe I possibly could as well. All the blood tests came back fine, so I had to look elsewhere. I recorded myself sleeping for a night and figured out I often snore in my sleep and I am bad mouth breather. Additionally, doctors have always told me I have large(er) tonsils. What are some of the first steps I can take to get my sleep back?

I would complete the STOP-BANG questionnaire, and if high risk, discuss with your doctor.

I will be consulting with a doctor soon about some form of sleep study and I am assuming some sort of surgery will be recommended. If so, should I have any concerns about Empty Nose Syndrome (ENS) following nose turbinate reduction. I have heard terrible things about ENS and would hate to put myself at risk. What are your thoughts on this?
