After Week 4 with conditioning, do I make the conditioning more challenging by increasing resistance ever t week or no? I keep the same intensity with two sessions of conditioning per week?
I’m not sure what you’re asking regarding “week 4”, but as your cardiorespiratory fitness improves, you will be covering more distance and doing whatever cardio modality you’ve chosen at a faster pace. This is the same type of progression as we see/recommend in strength training, e.g. as you get stronger, you add weight to match your fitness levels. You can increase the resistance on the conditioning mode, but I think that changes the mode a bit. This is akin to going from sets of 6 to sets of 4 reps, for example. Yes, it’s still lifting, but they’re not the same.
I am talking about the conditioning sessions on Week 4 and after. Should the conditioning get harder? I will be using a treadmill or bike.
Week 4 has no particular meaning to me. If you talking about a specific program that I should be aware of, it is not clear to me what it is…
As mentioned in my previous reply, the conditioning should not get harder if the prescription is the same. Rather, you should do more during the prescribed conditioning as your fitness improves, but it shouldn’t get harder. This is similar to how 4 reps @ RPE 8 should always feel about the same level of hardness, but get heavier over time as you get stronger.
I am sorry it is on the Beginner Template. Week 4 and after
The advice is the same regarding progression. Let me know if you have questions
