Progressing on LISS

Hello quick question, say i do the treadmill or the bike for conditioning, i usually just try to keep my heart rate between 120-130. On the treadmill for example i usually do a speed of 3.4, and im pretty much always in the heart rate range there. Although maybe it has become easier than before. Do i just keep speeding up aslong as i can - speak in short sentences for example? Wouldn’t this end up getting to hiit territory eventually? Or am i not viewing this through the correct lense? Thanks!

Hey Sam,

As your cardiorespiratory fitness improves, you’ll be able to sustain a faster pace within the designated HR range. This is similar to getting stronger and being able to lift more weight at the same RPE. I like using HR over being able to speak in short sentences for progression, and as such, no, it shouldn’t really end up as HIIT.
