Protein dosage and timing.

Hello Jordan,
I have a couple questions regarding protein intake dosage and timing.

  1. Is it advisable to consume 40g whey protein in one sitting in order to hit the recommended daily protein level or is there no benefit in adding whey if enough lysin is consumed within one session?
  2. Is it smart to consume my whey protein shake along with one of my other 3 meals? So today I forgot my shake at home. Which means I won‘t get any breakfast. My first meal at work is at 12.30pm, then after work at 5pm and the last one at 8pm. If I don‘t add a shake today I most certainly won‘t hit my protein target level. So should I just add a shake to one of my meals or will that be redundant since that meal will be unnecessarily high in protein then?

  1. If it helps you hit your daily protein goals, sure. I do not use lysine intake to manage protein recommendations at all.
  2. I would just increase the protein intake at each meal or have a shake right before bed.
