Protein Intake

Dear BBM,

I am aware that BBM reccomends 1.6-2,2g/kg of protein per day in order to maximize muscle gains. As someone who is lacto vegetarian I find it hard to meet the bottom end of the range. I asked a question to Dr. Feigenbaum regarding sources of protein and have been able to create a sustainable diet consisting of 100-120 grams of protein per day. I understand that this comes to around 1.3-1.6ish g/kg, which is below the optimal range. What percentage of the gains can I expect to acquire, if at all. Everything else seems to be optimized (sleep, programming factors, calories) but the topic of protein always stresses me out as a student due to the cost factor.

I can’t predict what percent of gainzZz™ you’d miss out on eating 1.3 vs 1.4 vs 1.5 vs 1.6 (optimal!), but I’d try and get close to the 1.6 each day, if possible. I’d be using whey or Greek yogurt to shore up the differences.
