Protein pre and post workout

I read your article on protein intake. Can you comment on:

how much protein should we take pre and post weightlifting?

if we eat 20g, or 40g 5-10 min before weightlifting, do we really need to eat 20g more when done (say 1 hour workout), or is the pre protein still in the system so more isn’t needed?

Does it have to be whey bc fast digrsting or any protein source is fine (egg, dairy, meat etc)?

what about for aerobic exercise pre and post protein- 25 min of LISS as stated in the GPP

i know your article said eat 20-45g protein 3-5x a day and every 3-5hrs, which suggests if we took it pre workout then no need right post

Ashish,

Based on the article, what do you think?

Does not matter.

Yes. From the article: 1. Each meal should contain ~0.25–0.6 grams of protein per kilogram bodyweight, or an absolute dose of ~20–45 grams of protein.
2. Protein-containing meal doses should ideally be evenly distributed every 3–5 hours across the day, although this is less important than the total daily intake Barbell Medicine Guide to Protein
