Quad tendonitis

Hey I’m suffering from quad tendonitis (slightly above the patella) on and off for the last 8 months. Usually I find Squat volume makes it worse (not neccesarily load) yet I’m focused on increasing leg mass cause it’s really lagging due to this pain.

Since I identified the volume range in which this get much worse I try to be in that volume range although of course squatting 4-5 weekly sets is really not optimal for strength or hypertrophy progress (I squat around 500 lbs, weigh 200)

Do local “anti inflamatory” creams work? Is there anything else besides volume management that can help? Cause I can Squat decently ok if it’s 4-5 sets a week, but I’m not making any progress on this volume range. Please need some help! Thank you for all your content and value to the fitness industry guys!

I don’t recommend anti-inflammatories in these scenarios. Load management and patience with the process is the name of the game. You may benefit from a consult with us to walk you through this process and address your concerns: Contact Us | Barbell Medicine
