question about pdcaas

is pdcaas a measure of the quality of the amino acid distribution, or is “digestibility” a separate trait that makes a protein less useful in spite of the amino acid distribution?

i just got a free tub if single source sunflower seed protein. the amino acid profile listed on the side looks like it would be “good” by just about any standards, incuding 3.5g leucine per scoop. but the web says sunflower seed protein is a .6 pdcaas. Is the score different because its processed into this protein powder, or is the score the same and the fact that it has lots of amino acids simply less useful because its sunflower?

The PDCAAS includes a digestibility metric.

I’m not sure what you mean about “is the score different”, but sunflower protein has a lower bioavailability than some other proteins, though I’m not sure that this matters at the dose you’re consuming protein.
