Currently I weight 82kg, with my long term goal being 93kg. I am eating around 2500 calories a day and gaining weight, with the goal being around 1.5kg a month. I tried entering my stats into the NIH planner as Jordan has recommended it, and surprisingly it said I should be eating over 3200 calories a day, which seems a bit excessive. Is this what I should be doing?
Why do you think that’s excessive?
Well if I’m eating 2500 calories and gaining weight wouldn’t moving to 3200 calories simply result in a lot more fat gain?
Not necessarily, as there’s a fuzzy zone between maintenance and surplus rather than a hard line. That said, if you wanted to go slower and lower with the surplus, that’s cool too.
