Raised ALT liver enzymes

Hello, …I was after some advice.
I’m 41 and have elevated liver enzymes (ALT) … in the 60’s for 4/5 months since original discovery … all other lft’s in range …
mri clear… fibroscan clear … had a hepatitis blood test … clear …
don’t really drink … could this be excercise ? My gastro doesn’t think ALT is present anywhere else in the body so he keeps ruling it out …

last few alt results
Dec 2023 - 61 ALT
Jan 2024 - 65 ALT
feb 2024 - 64 ALT
March 2024 - 59 ALT

I Excercise 4/5 times a week. 2/3 days strength and the other 2/3 cardio … I’m 5ft 11. 71 kg’s so not overweight … pretty fit … I’d say a good diet … plenty of fruit and veg … I’ve started to up my protein , eggs for breakfast 2/3 times a week … previously was just oats or cereal …

I’m at a loss at the moment … lft’s keep coming back with ALT elevated and the doctor is basically stumped …

advice would be appreciated please …

ALT is found in the liver, skeletal muscle, kidney, and heart. It’s been well documented that ALT can stay elevated for many days post exercise. I am not sure why your physician is chasing down an isolated ALT elevation with other proximate causes ruled out. If this is really important to you, you could stop exercising for a week and redraw the blood.

Sorry so are you saying as it’s just elevated alt this can probably be ignored ? Im still in the same boat … last test was at 80 with 10 days off the gym …
