I think I finally figured it out. Please correct me if I am wrong. After my whole life of always being taught to lift to failure, i had a hard time understanding that it is more desirable to leave a little bit in the tank. I have always tritiated the weight every rep and set to as close to failure as possible. By the time I reached the final rep of the final set I am completely gassed. As I have got older (41) I have found that I cant recover from this anymore. After reading, watching and listening to everything you guys, and Rip, have published I think I finally got it. My question though is on the intermediate sets;
Should I be adjusting the weight so that I am at 8 RPE on the final rep of each set or should the intermediate sets be much lower RPE?
Finally, trying to understand RPE… would an RPE 8 be similar to saying I have two more reps left in me and or, an RPE 6 similar to saying I have four reps left in the tank?
Thank you gents in advance for all your time.
